Mahoganey Jones founded Event Specialists in 2004 after years of watching the same pattern repeat: leaders capable of commanding a room spending the day running it instead. She built this company to solve that problem.

Engaging Associations Forum is an annual leadership gathering for association and NFP executives founded in 2014. It brings together Executive Directors and CEOs across Canada each July. The forum is owned and produced by Event Specialists Inc. and serves as a proof point for the company’s executive event production standard. The 2026 forum takes place in Ottawa, July 22-24.

The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is the events industry’s primary professional credential, awarded by the Events Industry Council. It represents a verified standard of knowledge, skill and professional experience across the full scope of meeting and event production. Mahoganey Jones and many team members have held this designation throughout her career at Event Specialists.

The Digital Event Strategist (DES) designation is a professional credential focused on the strategy, design and production of digital and hybrid events. It covers event technology architecture, virtual platform selection and the design of digital experiences for professional audiences. Mahoganey Jones was the first event professional in Canada to earn the DES designation.
